I've just been online 4 hours, typical night patrolling a bit and joining battle against IMMYs with WISE (pretty active alliance). I'm pacific time zone and late night player so meet other KAF rarely.
Please do recruit, Koestsu, especially a partner or two for your preferred time if you're bored of operating solo. Use your discretion or send players here to apply if you're unsure. If you need cash hook up with me or Valok.
As a clan in theory KAF is strong and appreciated. We have good recognition with veteran players on the server, sturdy allies, a big strategic hunk of turf and no challengers. In practice, internally, we dearly need more members - this is like a new clan.
The previous leadership didn't define KAF, didn't offer much guidance to the members, so, when war loomed and Yin quit to form Crazies clan, for some members that was the last straw. It didn't help that Linux "(Dragons)" had hired a merc to go around leaning on KAF members. Yin left us outside the loop when he stepped down (turns out there never was a loop) so Valok and I are pretty well starting this joint leadership out of a vacuum.
Now, I've made a thread where we can invent what KAF is, or ought to be. And I'm going to count the posters in that thread - that's our real membership. It won't be many!
I'll be placing a recruitment ad in main forums directing people to this board, and have started to get the word out among friendly clan leaders that KAF needs members if they want this ally to thrive.

The Play Times thread shows we have 4 serious members, total. And even if we play every day, our shifts don't overlap. Well, having our play times spread out can be an early advantage.
Recruitment goal of 3 members (active, semiactive) is set for each watch (shift).
A good start to winning members is to just find new players in the level 3-10 range, bump their levels up to 15-25 with unconditional gift of credits. About 100,000 - 250,000 will do. You can make all that back, and more, in a 10 min. trade run from NB to NT. The idea is to boost the newbie's level high enough that they don't invite additional charity (or attention) from clans after us.
Of course even if they don't come back to join, we've done a good turn and hooked a new player to the server.
Once we've all met this recruitment goal, play times will overlap. KAF will be everpresent.

I will be taking an indefinite leave of absence. This because my wife and son are returning from a 3 month stay with the inlaws, and we'll be moving. I'll have time for the clan, and this wonderful game, when the boy starts kindergarten in September. 'Till then, I'll be sneaking in the odd minute when possible. But don't expect much. I'd like to think you guys are secretly gladdened by the news. Anyway, lots of clans successful today had a long slow start. If KAF is nowhere to be found when I return, I'll resurrect it.

i quit because you wunt follow my orders. these orders were never spoken but held back inside me. i knew you wunt follow them so whats the point in voicing them? and btw i never formed crzies, matrix did. im too weak a fighter to lead a war. and by the time i left linux was already out of the server, most of the outside grudges against kaf were aimed at me, so if i stayed it would of persecuted you guys needlessly.lol id say i sacrificed myself for you guys but i aint that bigheaded.

@ Yin. No need to excuse yourself.
A thread like this, "...right now?" isn't the place to applaud past accomplishments, but, well..
*bows*
this clan would never have existed without your initiative, Yin, and I've come to appreciate how much work you put into it while Emperor.
Forgive the discussion here includes current problems, so must sound to you like blame. That's not the point though. We needed to review where we've been and where we stand now, in order to move forward.
About loyalty:
You're right, there are orders I would have disobeyed. I might have disobeyed orders that were made outside the game context. For example if you commanded me the player - not Pong or Peng but me - to do things regarding other players. Then, no, the person I am in real life isn't going to play that larger game with your real life person. On that level we're equal.
On the other hand, if Emperor Yin commanded private Pong to fly into a planet again and again, or attack any character whatsoever, Pong would act without hesitation. Until it grew unbearably tiresome.
See, Pong's a toy I play with. Other people can play with him. Pong's samurai, absolutely loyal. But I'm not, and neither does any person acting as clan leader have authority over other people.
Say, "Aha! I get it now."
***
@ KAF. So, I'll be gone a long time.
This is a good opportunity to revise the leadership titles, just because they're rather grandiose:
The Kusari state is ruled by a Shogunate - that is, a Daimyo endorsed by a figurehead Emperor or perhaps just asserting supreme power regardless, so this top Daimyo is called Shogun. There isn't any mention in game of a current Kusari Emperor. So if KAF has an Emperor, KAF must be supreme rulers of Kusari - and I don't think we can really claim that. We're a part of the system. So, our leader must be something lower ranking than The Shogun even.
I recommend clan leader be "Daimyo" (suggesting "warlord" or "clan leader") with the potential for more than one Daimyo in KAF.

Well, we're down to three members now, and I'll be gone soon.
I've backed up some clan data, the draft charter for example, in case KAF folds. I've studied how clans fail or prosper, in theory and also by reflecting on existing clans and talking to server veterans, and believe I can set up and drive a successful clan.
KAF requires many elements to pick up steam. It needs an ace. It needs a likable, chatty member. It needs a vigorous role player. It needs brand recognition and appeal. And more. So many elements, and bringing them together takes time. One person can build all this, step by step. Two, even better - the beginning of a core.
Maybe sometimes the people who wouldn't ask for a position but find themselves in it, are the ones best qualified.

Well you could have sent us to our deaths. Role-play.
You're right Yin about corruption. So the leadership should be transparent, and consensus found wherever possible. If (looks like when) I come back and restart KAF, this'll be my style. In game I'll probably be a rigid authoritarian, though.

I'll be asking Morpheus to unsticky the KAF threads on 247FreelancerLV forums, if no life signs here or there after one week.

This is a dead clan.
I've had the KAF "faction action" thread at 247LV un-stickied.

Hi Andrew,
& ex KAF,
If ever I've the time again to seriously invest in gaming, rest assured KAF on 24/7LV will be it. I'd hoped to return this month, but well.. it'll be later. Sooner than my 5-year-old's graduation and moving out of home, let us pray.
Role play servers grow better with age anyhow. Those humourless PK types find other games to play - which suits me fine. I'm making a slick new KAF clan forum and will bring this when I jump back in.
That's not really out of loyalty to the original KAF. The key here, for me, is the Kusari. I remember drifting around New Tokyo while chatting with... Morgana, I think... who'd then decided to make it her new home. She liked the place names, and the local colour scheme. After touring all Sirius, watching clans rise and fall, players come and go, finally, besides a few die-hards, what else is there? A style of ship, a corner of the colour wheel.
Looking forward to all you eagle-addicted die-hards,
Pong
